Since graduating Lumen Christi in 2021, I've foolishly continued what I was doing all throughout my highschool years - making video games when I really should be studying.
In 2018 a group of friends & I got together & decided we wanted to give game development a stab for the annual Australian STEM Video Game Challenge. After 4 years of trying we finally struck gold with our 2021 entry "Murus", winning not only our category, but finishing with the first perfect score in the history of the competition. Over those 4 years our group was whittled down to just myself & Maxwell Arch, & together we founded Soulcube - a game development business focused heavily around supporting & inspiring both our online & local communities.
Now out of school, I've witnessed everyone around me move onto new chapters of their life - all their efforts from the past 13 years culminating to the ultimate goal of graduating & moving on to the next step, whatever that may be.
But I find myself in a different situation as the past 4 years of my life have not been building to this same end goal. The chapter that I've been writing has not yet concluded & so that is what I'm hoping to accomplish in these coming years - a personal graduation.
Throughout all of 2022, Soulcube has been developing a crowdfunding campaign with the ambitious goal of raising enough money to fund our first commercial projects’ development all the way up until its full release in 2024.
It's a shot for the stars, but even if we don't make it, I'm still proud that we managed to not only construct a rocket with the potential to get there, but also had the courage to let it fly.
