Dear Parents and Carers
Lumen Christi Catholic College's 2022 end of year awards ceremony will be held this year on Wednesday, 14 December 2022 at 1:30pm in the Hall. Parents and carers are welcome to attend.
COVID Smart Measures
NSW and ACT Health recently advised that they are starting to see a rise in COVID-19 transmissions within the community, with a peak of cases expected in early December. COVID-smart measures continue to be in place and are vital in allowing us to keep our schools operational while prioritising student and staff wellbeing. These measures include:
- staying home if unwell and/or showing any symptoms
- mask-wearing strongly encouraged, particularly when indoors and/or when physical distancing is not possible, and on public transport
- continued mandatory mask-wearing for anyone working with students at greater risk of serious illness whether they are in specialist centres, support unit or mainstream classroom
- using rapid antigen tests (RATs) when showing symptoms or exposed to COVID-19. Please note that the College has an abundance of Rapid Antigen Tests for our Community & we encourage families to use them regularly if Covid symptoms should occur. Supplies will be distributed this Friday but welcome families to contact the College for further packs in the future.
- encouraging all students, staff, and families to keep up to date with their vaccinations, including COVID-19 booster shots if eligible
NSW Health are also encouraging everyone in the community to continue to register positive RATs with Service NSW to ensure they receive timely support and advice, including access to antivirals for those who are eligible.
Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs)
We encourage students, families, and staff to test whenever they are showing symptoms or if they have been exposed to COVID-19.
With the expected spike in COVID-19 cases in the community early next month, we will be distributing RATs to students and staff this Friday and to encourage their use, particularly before large end-of-year events and gatherings.
If you require any additional tests, please contact lccc@cg.catholic.edu.au to arrange collection.
