Held annually on the last Friday of October, Day for Daniel is Australia’s largest child safety education and awareness event.
This special day honours the memory of Daniel Morcombe and reinforces the vital message that keeping kids safe is a responsibility we all share—parents, carers, educators, businesses…the entire community.
Across Australia schools, early learning centres, and businesses and individuals to register and participate in Day for Daniel, helping to spread this crucial message and empower children with personal safety education.
Primary Students at Lumen Christi Catholic College are encouraged to wear something Red on Friday 31 October as part of the day.
Students will take part in lessons to learn about Child Safety.
From 10 December 2025, age-restricted social media platforms will have to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under the age of 16 from creating or keeping an account.

THE CHANGING FACE OF CYBERBULLYING: HELP PROTECT YOUR CHILD ONLINE
Presented by the eSafety Commissioner
For parents and carer of young people in primary and secondary school
AI tools are evolving fast – and some are being misused in ways that can harm or exploit children and young people, including through the creation of deep fakes and digitally altered images. This 45-minute webinar covers how these technologies are being used, their impact and how to support and protect your child. It’s suitable for parents and carers of upper primary and high school students.
The Sapphire Coast Music Society is presenting its final concert of the year on Sunday, 16 November.
At 2.30pm on Sunday, 16 November 2025 at Wolumla Hall the Sapphire Coast Music Society will be presenting our last concert for 2025, and it is one not to be missed.
Consortium unites a band of Australia’s finest viola da gamba players to explore the rich repertoire for viol consort. They will perform their program “The Gamut of Viols”.
Open your ears to the sounds of the 16th and 17th century where the Viol flourished in England and on the European continent. A tapestry of interwoven lines that produce a harmonious whole, the sound of the Viol is both captivating and intriguing. So much so that it has inspired a host of contemporary composers to write for the instrument.
Utilising the varied shapes and forms of the Viol, Melbourne’s Consortium of Viols will showcase the Eras and Sound World of an instrument rich in history.
There is no better place than the Wolumla Hall to listen to these musicians and be immersed in their incomparable program.
Tickets are $30 and are available:
- online at Trybooking.com https://www.trybooking.com/DFDQG
- at Candelo Books in Bega and Lorikeet Lane in Merimbula
- at the door on the day of the concert.
Children and students are admitted free.
