Happy Lumen Day.
Best wishes to all Lumen Students, staff and families, and a very warm welcome to Fr Kose!
Fr Kose celebrated Mass with the College, focussed on the Gospel account of Jesus Transfigured, shining brightly. Fr Kose shared with us the story of Carlo Acutis, who will be Canonised by Pope Leo this Sunday.
Carlo Acutis is known as the millennial saint, A remarkable young man who chose a lifestyle characterised by Gospel Virtues to be kind, loving, devoted and patient. Carlo died of leukemia in 2006. In his beatification he becomes a model to youth, demonstrating what a sainly life can be in the modern world.
On Lumen Day, we remember our own call to e the light of Christ, and what our lives could be when we recognise that we too are the light of the world, and we make the world better when we shine our light.
Fr Kose encouraged us all to be the light of Christ to one another. It’s the smallest and the greatest thing we can do in our College.
Be the light of Christ

We're very excited that this service opportunity has returned, with primary and secondary students cooking and selling Bacon and Eggs to raise money for the Franciscan Sisters of St Anthony in Pontevedra, Philippines.
Cash and Card are accepted - next session will be Friday 12 September, 2025.
As part of CECG's, Catholic Education Canberra-Goulburn, commitment to student learning, students in Years 2-10 will be sitting online PAT Spelling assessments during this week. This will be done in a timetabled lesson with their normal class teacher. The assessments comprise of 30 questions and unlike PAT Reading and PAT Maths, they are not adaptive. PAT Spelling will be once a year and we aim to analyse the results to see where there may be opportunities to further promote student knowledge and skills. If you have any questions about PAT Spelling or any of these assessments, please contact Antoinette.Woods@cg.catholic.edu.au
For the third year we have engaged Consent Labs to run sessions with students in Years 7-10. Consent Labs is a quality-assured program in the NSW Department of Education’s Student Wellbeing external programs catalogue.  Interactive presentations will occur on Wednesday and Thursday of Week 9 on the following topics:
Year 7 - Consent Foundations
Year 8 - Consent in the Digital World
Year 9 - Consent with Alcohol & Other Drugs
Year 10 - Recognising Sexual Harassment & Assault
If you have any questions about Consent Labs and these presentations, please contact Antoinette.Woods@cg.catholic.edu.au
