Congratulations to the nine children who were Confirmed last weekend by Archbishop Christopher. May you continue to be inspired by the Holy Spirit and grow in faith, wisdom and courage.Â
Once students complete their Trial Examinations next Tuesday, they will have several weeks to receive feedback, revise content and practise past papers, refining their analytical mathematical and writing skills.Â
It is important that students maintain their momentum, even if they are accepted for early entry into universities, as students’ exams results play a part in how their class’ school based assessment is moderated.Â
More information will be sent out regarding celebrations in their final week at the end of this term (Showcase on Monday evening, Mass on Tuesday evening, Assembly on Wednesday morning) and their Graduation Dinner on Friday 14 November.
Each year we celebrate Lumen Day with a special Mass and fun activities. This year we are combining it with two fundraisers: Jersey Day and Footy Colours Day which raise awareness of organ donation and funds for Fight Cancer Foundation, respectively. Â
Lumen day this year will be celebrated on Wednesday 3 September. Periods 1 and 2 will be normal classes. A special trivia will be held after recess, followed by our first Mass with Fr Kose, our new parish priest. After lunch students will choose from a variety of activities and the day will end with our traditional Tug of War challenge. Â
Lumen Day is our College Feast Day where we reflect on Jesus' Transfiguration - the importance of taking time out from our busy lives for reflection, connecting with nature and then going back to the real, messy world with a renewed sense of mission
Students in Years 10-12 are invited to attend the Vinnies Fast South Coast Winter Sleep Out.
Organised by our local St Vinnies and Local Police Youth Command Team who will be presenting and running activities. This is a fundraiser for the great work that St Vinnies do and all money will stay in our area.
