HSIE Classroom Teacher for 2025. Position Description below. Applications close 13/10/2024. Apply here !
The Community Council (CC) members met up for their scheduled executive meeting on the 12/9/2024 to discuss ongoing as well as some new objectives.
Father’s Day Breakfast
We loved seeing all the families at the Father’s Day Breakfast at the end of August. We wanted to give a big shout out to Leanne Fraser for all her hard work getting the food into your bellies and the teachers and students who volunteered their morning cooking, serving and cleaning up. It would not have been such a success without you!!
Student Voice
A new initiative has been introduced into the CC executive meetings as a regular agenda item. The introduction of a ‘Student Voice’ for the purpose of providing a platform for students to present their ideas and concerns. We are excited to introduce this opportunity and look forward to hearing fresh and innovative ideas coming from our students. On a side note, if you are student with an idea or a parent of student who you think would like to present their ideas please get in touch with Adrian Wels who will be the contact for the ‘Student Voice’.
Working Groups
The Breakfast Club and Uniform Working Groups have now been established. There has been some work and changes behind the scenes, and we are hoping first meet ups and potentially even some of the initiatives will be starting to commence in Term 4. Regular updates will be published through the School Newsletter.
Parent Information Evening
The Community Council is keen to organise an information evening for all new parents as well as parents with a child transitioning to high school. We are hoping to provide an evening of useful information that will help you and your child(ren) start 2025 smoothly. We would love to use this opportunity to introduce you to some teachers, staff and of course the Community Council. We hope this evening is a chance for you to connect to other parents and carers as well as gain confidence in starting the schooling year prepared and informed. Information on this will become available as soon as we have more details.
Seaspray Café
Concerns were raised earlier in the term regarding primary school student’s opportunity to purchase food from the cafe. We would like to let the parent community know that we have heard these concerns, and we are working with the school to develop a sustainable solution.
We have been advised that Qkr! as of this week has an option to purchase snacks at lunch & recess time, we hope this will help with some of the issues for primary getting their food from the café in the interim. This is just the start of some potential changes to purchasing food for primary and we will update you as we have definitive changes outlined.
Year 6 Graduation
The CC has offered assistance to organise the Year 6 Graduation. We look forward to a fabulous evening which will take place on Tuesday, 10 December 2024. A formal invite with information about the evening will be sent out shortly. If you are a parent, friend or guardian and would like to assist in anyway, please do not hesitate to get in contact with the CC via email – lumencommunitycouncil@gmail.com
Next Community Council Executive meeting
Our next meeting is on 5 December at 4:00pm in the Boardroom at the College.
Be the Light of Christ.

Congratulations Class of 2024
As we celebrate with our graduating Year 12s over the next week and continue to support their journey through their HSC examinations, it is a great time to reflect with gratitude. We are thankful for parents' support and collaboration as we share the joys and challenges of guiding our students towards adulthood. We are thankful for the dedication and wisdom of all staff who provide so many opportunities for our students to shine their lights. Finally, we are thankful to the students for being a part of Lumen Christi's community, shaping the College culture through their service, achievements and camaraderie with their peers and younger students. We wish our graduating students all the very best.

Catholic School Parents Archdiocese of Canberra Goulburn (CSPACG) Council will hold their AGM in Term 4 and are seeking representatives from all regions to fill vacancies.
The Council meets four times a year with two meetings in-person and two online. This is a great way to learn more about advocacy, representation, engagement and support for our Catholic school parents and carers.
Nominees should complete the form below and return it to parents@cg.catholic.edu.au by 31 October.

This is where practice tests come in: the secret superpower you can use in exam preparation. Let’s look […]
