Dear Year 12 Students, Parents and Carers,
In HSC Advanced English, students will be studying Kazuo Ishiguro’s novel, An Artist of the Floating World for Module B (Critical Study of Text). Most HSC texts are provided by the College, but past students have indicated that owning the novel (hence being able to annotate it) greatly benefits their study of the Module. The NESA-approved edition of An Artist of the Floating World can be purchased from the College via Qkr! for $17.00.
Module B will be studied in Term 2, 2022. It’s important that students do an initial reading of the novel during the summer holiday, so they’re not grappling with the basics of plot, setting and character when we come to the critical study in Term 2.
Please make payment by Qkr! at your earliest opportunity.
If you have any questions, please contact Jacinta Battista at the College by telephoning 6495 8888 or emailing jactinta.battista@cg.catholic.edu.au
Dear Parents and Carers
Firstly, I would like to welcome Gayle Savage. Gayle has filled the position of Uniform Shop Manager and will be training in the shop over the coming weeks. Please make her feel welcome if you cross paths. She is proving to be a great asset to Pickles Schoolwear and the Lumen community. I will be taking a step back but you will still see me about assisting Gayle from time to time.
If you are requiring uniform before the school year ends please head to the Pickles website www.picklesschoolwear.com and place an online order. Orders will be filled no later than Wednesday, 15 December 2021. Students are also able to purchase directly from the shop in during opening hours of Mondays 8.30am to 9.30am and Wednesdays 8.30am to 10:00am.
January opening dates and times are in the process of being set and will be released as soon as possible.. We are hoping restrictions will be lifted so we return to our appointment system for the beginning of the new year.
Stock deliveries have started to arrive in time for Term 1, 2022. S/M Bucket hats are now back in stock and can be purchased online or directly by students at the shop.
We still have a few 50% items left that can be purchased by contacting Trine. Purchase for these items can be made over the phone by calling (02) 6495 8851 during the above hours.
