Primary Dance Program
Dance is an important part of the CAPA curriculum where students develop knowledge and understanding, skills, values and attitudes in Performing, Composing and Appreciating by engaging with the elements of dance (action, dynamics, time, space, relationships and structure).
During term 3 Primary Students will undertake a dance program with dance instructors Cassandra Michelin and Danelle Ayres to prepare them for their participation in the Primary Musical Shrek.
Years 1-6 will be participating in dance on Thursday’s and are able to wear their sports uniform on these days.
Kindergarten parents will be advised later this week by their class teacher about when dance will be held for their class.
Primary Musical-Disney Shrek JR
The Primary Musical Shrek JR is underway with the cast rehearsals in full swing. We are lucky to have the opportunity to include the whole of the Primary with each class presenting a dance on stage as part of the musical.
The Shrek performances will be held on Wednesday, 18 October and Thursday, 19 October, with two matinee’s and two evening performances. It will be a ticketed event through Trybooking. If for any reason your child will not be able to attend the performances can you please let your class teacher know as soon as possible.
If you are able to assist in the musical preparation in any way please get in touch with Cristal Dinwoodie at Cristal.Dinwoodie@cg.catholic.edu.au
Further information about the musical will be provided in the weeks to come.
Save the Date - Primary Learning Journeys
On Thursday, 7 September 2023 (Week 8), we are excited to welcome our Primary parents and carers to our Primary Learning Journeys. Taking place after school, this is an opportunity to share in the learning your children have been undertaking this term and to informally meet with class teachers. To allow as many people to participate as possible, we will be having a range of times where families can book in between 3:45pm and 5:30pm to visit classrooms and stay for about 15 minutes.
Details about bookings will be available later in the term (Week 6).
We are looking forward to sharing this time with you all.
CONGRATULATIONS to Olivia Pamplin for her Excellence in VET Construction Award.
