Grandparents & Friends Day
Our recent Grandparents and Friends Day at LCCC was a huge success. On this special day, we had the privilege of hosting a joyous celebration that brought together generations and fostered the spirit of togetherness and learning.
The day began with excitement and anticipation as proud grandparents and cherished friends arrived on campus. Mrs Reckord had meticulously planned the Liturgy which included photographs of previous Grandparents and Friends Days. Mrs Woods presented a wonderful homily talking about the scarf-blanket that she had knitted for her grandparents to show them her love. Mr Liston and Mr Short assisted with the music and the Primary Students sang two wonderful songs. It was a joyous occasion that was topped with Mrs Lynn’s video of students from each year level talking about their wonderful grandparents and friends. The resonating theme of the day was the invaluable role grandparents and friends play in shaping the lives of their loved ones.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy the students collected their guests and presented them with a decorated heart, star or flower with our scriptural theme “be kind and compassionate to one another” as a memento of the day. Grandparents and Friends were then taken to the classrooms for a visit, where they could view student work or participate in a range of different activities ensuring an unforgettable time for all attendees.
Following the classroom visits, there was an amazing morning tea shared with Grandparents and Friends bringing plates of food with many delicious treats from chocolate covered fruit to an wide array of cakes and biscuits. Throughout the morning, the importance of intergenerational relationships and the strong bonds shared between grandparents and friends were evident. From heart warming conversations to shared laughter and the exchange of wisdom, the event served as a platform for building connections and creating lasting memories.
The success of Grandparents and Friends Day at LCCC would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of our Primary Staff Members and the RE Faculty. Their commitment to creating a warm and inclusive environment for all attendees truly made this event an extraordinary celebration.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the grandparents and friends who graced us with their presence. Your unwavering support and love continue to inspire us as we strive to foster a strong sense of community.
