From Acting Assistant Principal Learning Enrichment
Congratulations!
Congratulations to all our students for their personal growth during the year, and thanks to our families and staff who supported them.
At our Year 6 Graduation this week, several students were formally recognised for academic excellence, sporting achievements and positive contributions to our College community. It’s often difficult for staff to choose recipients as we have so many talented and generous students.
Our major awards are determined by multiple nominations by teachers who recognise Leading Learners who model the way, inspire a shared vision, enable others to act, challenge the process and encourage the heart. The Light of Christ awards are best summed up by lyrics in our school song, “Lumen Christi Shine”:
Shine your light, Lumen Christi shine
In the life of this place, with you as our guide,
We grow in love, may we grow in unity.
To be helping each other, to carry the load,
To be happy to serve and care is our code,
We carry your name, we lift your holy flame
And keep it bright.
The Primary Awards Ceremony will be Wednesday, 13 December (12:10pm - 1:00pm) and Secondary Awards Ceremony will be Thursday, 14 December (5:00pm - 7:00pm). It would be fantastic to celebrate your child’s growth with you, if you are able to attend.
As we head towards the end of another year, may we reflect with gratitude on 2023, recognising that who we are today has been shaped by both positive and challenging experiences and encounters. May we look forward with hope to 2024, knowing that come what may, all will be well.
