LCCC Swimming Carnivals 2022

Swimming carnivals are compulsory days for all students and participation in our College carnival is expected from every student.  

There will be plenty of fun and lots of novelty events so there is no excuse for not having a go!

Carnival Venue, Dates and Times

Our 2022 College Swimming Carnivals will be held at the Sapphire Aquatic Centre, Pambula Beach as follows: 

• Kinder to Year 6 - Thursday, 3 February 2022
• Year 7 to Year 12 - Friday 4 February 2022

Both carnivals will start at approximately 9.30am with the Kinder to Year 6 Carnival concluding around 2.30pm and the Year 7 to 12 at approximately 3.15pm.

Carnival Programs & Events

Programs for both Carnivals will be available at the beginning of Term 1 2022.

Kindy, Year 1 and any student who is under 8 years of age will participate in novelty events in the small pool. There will also be ungraded 25 metres events and graded 50 meters events for Years 2 to 6.

Special arrangement for 100m events … 

All 100m swimming events will be on Tuesday, 8 February 2022 from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. These events are for students who can comfortably swim 4 laps of the aquatic centre’s 25 metre pool. Students who wish to participate in these events need to meet staff at the oval gate at recess with their $3.10 entry fee, swimmers and recess.

Regional and Diocesan Representative Pathway

• Primary students who achieve 1st or 2nd at the LCCC Carnival will be eligible to attend the Southern Region Carnival in Narooma on Thursday, 24 February 2022.  Qualifiers from this carnival may choose to complete in the Diocesan Primary Carnival on Tuesday 8 March 2022 in Queanbeyan.   
• Secondary students who come 1st or 2nd at the LCCC Carnival qualify to compete in the Diocesan Secondary Carnival on Monday, 7 March 2022 also in Queanbeyan

What to Bring

Students need to pack their own recess, lunches and drinks or purchase food from the canteen at the pool.

What to Wear

Students should wear their house colours for “War Cries” and the rest of the day.  Whilst the carnival is undercover, please ensure your child has a hat and sunscreen.

Pool Entry

There is no cost to enter the pool on LCCC Carnival days as the cost has been included in your child’s College fees.  There will be a $3.10 entry charge for those participating in the 100m events (see above).
