Message from the Principal
Dear Parents
With springtime upon us, it’s good to time to take a moment think about how we renew and refresh as we come into the mid semester break.
Term 3 has been a wonderful time for learning in the College, with special focus on creative arts and performance that we are able to offer. Our primary school musical, Madagascar Jnr. was a highly polished production showcasing the talents and enthusiasm of our primary students but also harnessing the creative input and production skills of staff and students from across the College. What we saw was the unique power and capacity of a K - 12 College to bring faith filled learning, collaboration and resources for a shared purpose.
At the other end of the College, we graduated our Year 12 students through a number of key events. Commencing on Monday, staff students and parents gathered for the Year 12 Showcase Evening. This is an event that has grown over time, in which we celebrate the major works of students in Visual Arts, Industrial Arts, Music and Drama. Visitors were blown away with the high quality of works produced by students, in an event that was expo, art show, playhouse, rock concert and strings recital.
We followed up on Tuesday night with a joyful Eucharistic celebration of our College and Year 12 students in the Graduation Mass highlighted when the entire Year 12 cohort led us in the final hymn, “Light of the World” from the musical Godspell. On Wednesday morning, families ands students gathered with staff in the amphitheatre for breakfast before the graduation assembly and awards ceremony. All that left now is the final study sessions prior to the HSC exams which commence in Term 4.
So yes, it is time for rest and renewal as we leap into the coming spring and summer term. I am grateful for the fine leadership of our Year 12 students and look forward to the new leadership of the Year 11 group as they commence their HSC course in Term 4. I am also proud of the work that our teachers and staff do in the service of this broad learning community, and I congratulate the primary students for their wonderful performance.
We return in summer uniform, looking forward to all of the activities of Term 4.
Be the light of Christ
