Update from the Assistant Principal Learning Enrichment
Parent-Student - Teacher (PST) Interviews and Reports
Thank you to our Primary teachers and families for working collaboratively through our Parent- Student-Teacher interviews this week. I'm sure the children enjoyed sharing all the great work they've been doing.
Parents of students in Yrs 7-10 will receive interim reports on the last day of this term, which is also when Yr 12 Half Yearly Reports will be distributed on Sentral. Yr 11 Half Yearly Reports will be sent out Monday, 12 May 2025.
Next term, PST Interviews for students in Yrs 7-12 will occur on Wednesday, 14 May and Thursday, 22 May. Bookings can be made via SENTRAL from the start of next term. All families are encouraged to make bookings to meet with teachers. An important part of that event is the bringing together of parents, with their children in a meeting with the Teacher. In this way school and parent partnerships for learning become stronger.
Staff changes
When staff get sick, take leave or are absent due to excursions or professional development, we strive to ensure that the replacement teacher is well-supported to minimise the impact on student learning.
We are fortunate to have a great group of relief staff who are familiar with our students, College values and processes. We also have a variety of permanent teachers on call each period who are available to take relief lessons as part of their teaching load.
From time to time we also take pre-service teachers to support the next generation of educators. Next week we welcome three first year pre-service teachers from University of Wollongong in PDHPE, HSIE and Science.
This year, several staff are taking extended Leave . Currently, Patrick Considine is on leave until 30/5 - Kyle Tucker will be the replacing Teacher.
Upcoming leave in the next 2 months are:
- Katherine Walker
- Jacinta Battista
- Amanda Lawrence
Philippines Immersion in July Holidays this year
Our immersion trip to the Philippines in January was postponed to the July holidays due to volcanic activity in Mt Kanlaon. We're looking for 4 - 5 students in Yrs 10 or 11 to join the 5 students from the original group to spend time with the Franciscan Sisters of St Anthony and the young people of Pontevedra. The cost will be $3000 and the trip will leave Sydney on Monday, 7 July and return on Tuesday, 15. Please contact Antoinette.Woods@cg.catholic.edu.au if you'd like more information.
